HealthVisions Midwest continues to provide health and wellness information and resources to thousands of people in Allen and Lake counties in Indiana. Resources include educational programs, assistance for seniors, certifications for Community Health Workers, transportation, and more. One client’s family member expressed gratitude for HealthVisions Midwest’s services by saying, “It’s difficult to find transportation to and from doctor’s appointments, and HealthVisions is a godsend…”

Transportation is a vital part of HVM’s ministry. For example, people who need wheelchair accessible vans can get safe access to transportation through HVM. By providing free transportation and companionship to seniors and other-abled adults, cancer treatments are not missed, homes are stocked with groceries and medications, and veterans are able to focus on their doctor visits rather than worry about how they will get home.

Healthier lifestyles are another focus of HealthVisions Midwest. By supplying free education about preventing lead poisoning, combating obesity, and chronic disease awareness, barriers are breaking.

The HEART Program (Healthy Eating/Active Living/Reduce Stress/Test Your Numbers) promotes making healthy lifestyle changes, self-monitoring blood pressure and weight to improve cardiovascular health. Montoya, one of the program participants said, “I am so happy to be a part of this program as it has impacted my life by teaching me to eat healthier and how to exercise more in my daily life.”
