Empowered Eat Healthy-Be Active Program
Lead: Renetta Williams and Peggy Hayes
The Empowered Eat Healthy – Be Active Program is taught by peer educators working to improve health in the minority population by promoting healthier lifestyle choices for obese adults. The curriculum, geared toward African-American adults 18 or older, addresses the need to modify cultural eating behaviors to achieve better health outcomes. Sessions are offered in local communities once a week for four to six weeks.
